Organic Texture: Frog!

This was textured in Maya. I used a combination of the SSS fast skin (for the frog) and Blinn (for everything else including the eyes).

I painted a base texture in Mari; I used this project as an excuse to start learning it. Unfortunately, time crunches meant I had to finish the details of the textures through Photoshop. The frog textures, were entirely painted in Mari and Photoshop. The lily pad and eye textures were composited in Photoshop from various web references. (The most recognizable of which was this lovely dead lily pad.

The model was from 3DVIA.com by Matku. Although it came without eyes.

What I found most challenging was the way the SSS shader effected displacement maps. I'm happiest with the slimy look of the live frog.

Another Rough Background

This is a dutch angle background: I was given the rough outline below and asked to play with it and shade it. I skewed and resized the tree shapes, enhanced them, and added foreground elements to draw the eye towards the action from the storyboards. This was for another collaborative animation.

Forest Concept for Collaborative Animation

This was more concept artwork for a senior project I'm a part of. They're changing the direction but I still wanted to post this really fast. I used acrylic paint to make a few washes on a canvas board then I spread it out and cleaned it up for the back plate in Photoshop. The trees and grass were all done in Photoshop.

Steampunk Painting Adjust - Lesbia Weeping over a Dragon

This is a steampunk take on the painting 'Lesbia Weeping over a Sparrow' by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema. I've adjusted the painting by painting and compositing on it in Photoshop. This was for an assignment that was just to show we could use Photoshop. We were able to pick whatever we wanted as long as the end result could be considered fine art and I chose to adjust this painting.
